Jon Klassen is a Genius

         So I can't begin to tell you how much I LOVE author, Jon Klassen. His Hat books are the flipping best. He manages to use only 213 words in his book, "We Found a Hat." ???!!!?!!?You might be thinking, "So what. It's a kids book. They're short." But telling a complete story with interesting characters in less than 300 words is HARD. 

        When I became serious about writing picture books I thought no big deal. I've written all my life. But it is not easy to write a picture book. Scratch that, a GOOD picture book. Way harder than you'd think! It's humbling to try out a new area in an old craft and realize that you don't know the first thing about it. But this guy knows. Adults, please read him once in your life. You'll be laughing out loud, I promise you.
